 h.Art  Sat 6 to Sun 14 September 2025

Take your time to feel uplifted and inspired by Herefordshire's creative people.

Enrich your homes and lives with their wonderfully varied art and craftworks.

h.Art is a not to be missed early Autumn treat.

Hundreds of artists across the County and close borders.

9 days of joyful inspiration, unique finds, and the chance to buy direct from the creator. Meet them in their creative habitats, pop up shows in lots of unexpected places and galleries. Many artists only open their work spaces once a year, giving you a rare insight into their creative lives and their individual practice. You can chat, just browse, buy, or commission direct.

Artists and galleries update their pages throughout the year, so you can check out what’s new with them and follow your favourites until the end of the year.

This year's participants will start to appear on site in early February and be populated by mid March.

How to explore -

You can choose to explore by artist, artform, gallery, location or venue.

Each venue page has a link to the artists showing there and to 'what three words' and google maps.

Download last year's h.Art County, City & town maps here. This year's maps will be available later in July.

Download last year's 2024 h.Art guide, go to the top navigation bar and click on GUIDE. This year's downloadable and printed guide will be available later in July.

We'd love you to hold onto your guide, you can use it as an artist directory to get back in touch.

The 2025 guide will be available to download and pick up around the County from late July. You will find them in libraries, Tourist Info Centres and the local pick up points as well as h.Art venues who are open regularly. If you are out of county you can pick them up within a 50 mile radius of the County at libraries, Tourist Info Centres and main tourist attractions. Contact h.Art for a full list of pick up points outside the County or request a paid postage guide here.

Artist Notice Board

Are you looking for artists to join you at your venue, or searching for a great space to show at next year?

If anyone is looking for anyone/anything specific and you want me to put out your request on the Artist Notice Board and in the next ENewsletter. Please let Mel know.  Be specific about what you are looking for and what you are offering and include relevant contact details.

Something along these lines, e.g., from a venue -

Joe Bloggs - I have a barn five miles from Hereford which I think would be a fantastic venue for sculptors, but I would want the artists to organise everything, but I will contribute X percentage of the Venue fee payment. See my venue here/link Contact Joe at X to chat informally.

Something along these lines, e.g., from an artist -

Johanna Bloggs - I work in watercolour but on a large scale and I’m looking for a small friendly group to show with, preferably in the South of the County. See my work here/link Contact Johanna at X

2025 Artist seeking others:

Emily Hare & husband Matt Dixon looking for a group to join together. Ideally no further than 40 mins from Craven Arms, even better if it's closer! (That's where we are based). Emily works in watercolours and concentrates on fantasy, folklore and fairytales and Matt paints digitally creating enchanting and whimsical robots. You can see our work here: www.emilyhare.co.uk & www.mattdixon.co.uk

2025 Venues seeking artists:

Oil & Oak - A Gallery and Makers Shop in Hay-on-Wye: We are looking for artists to take part in a collaborative exhibition for next year’s h.Art. We would like to showcase a variety of disciplines and have space for up to 6 artists (size dependant). You can view the space here: www.oilandoak.co.uk or pop into the shop yourself. Please contact Abi via abioilandoak@gmail.com if you're interested or have any questions.

To TAKE PART in h.Art SIGN UP between the 4th Feb and 4 March

Information on how to Take Part in h.Art can be found on the navigation bar or click on Taking Part. The Artist, Gallery Profile and Venue forms can be found at the bottom of the Taking Part page.

Every artist taking part needs to create or update their online Artist Profile for the site first. Click on the Artist Profile box and then create or update your information and add up to 8 images for your page. All Galleries also need to create or update their Gallery Profiles. Profile pages go live on site 24 hrs after you have completed the form. Check out how they look on site and continue to edit and update them as often as you like until the end of the year. You can use them for anything related to your practice, they don't just have to be for the h.Art event. Visits to the site tend to grow from April onwards.

Then a nominated person from each venue or group completes the Venue Form on behalf of each venue. If you are showing alone in your own studio or work space you would complete the Venue form for your space. Information and the image/s you choose to go in the Venue Form are used to create the printed h.Art guide, which will be available for venues to collect on the 15 and 16 July.

Please see the Take Part page for more detailed information.
